I Arrive via taxi as I rang 111 and told it would take 7 hours for a retirn call. On arriving with a racing heart I was checked in and told to sit down and wait to be seen The place was full and waiting time was 8 hours . The place looked like a dirty pub on a friday night , rubbish all over the place , what ever the things was that was hanging off the walls. While sat waiting I needed the toilet ,Jesus I was nearly sick the outside gutter would have been better !! Yes people use it ,but where is a cleaner .. There was a few old people 70s plus 1 old guy just sat alone near the front door in a wheeel chair falling in and out of sleep. (Me leaving some 10 hours later and still there ) Never spoken to , never asked if he wanted a drink. The nurse come's in shouts and name with a face like thunder taking blood pressure's Finally 4 hours later My bloods need re doing as thay are Slightly out she says Been sat here and my partner arriving from work in york we ask If I can go home and come back " I wouldnt your bloods was Slightly out " says Miss happy . Why does she even do her job !! So again we are waiting another few hours my partner nips out , I start feeling really bad and walk to ask if they could check my heart as its racing . I get sent thought the doors to be looked and Eventually sent to ECU 6.5 hours later Oh by foot ! Until we found a chair on wheels as i felt shaky and unsteady on my feet . The old guy still sat there in his chair . I bet 5 of the people went home as some had been there over 12hours waiting !!! No care whatso ever in that place My partner was told when I came out of the door, that there had been a short on Doctors over night 1 guy came in as I did 12midnight , drunk and been sick all over the taxi that had dropped him off , with his dad shouting get up get up idiot . He came into A+E shouting at the Reception. staff fell on the floor been sick ..wheeled away in the other side and walked out before my 1st bloods and even been returned . WHY ??? 1came in with police and sent straight though did same shouting his mouth off , walked out stiched up before them old people that had been sat there 12 hours !! Correct me if im wrong but this Is wrong on so many levels. Cleaner arrived at 6 ish am and if thats what you call cleaning ,I wouldnt bother , its Disgusting Dri . When the doctors sent me home and said please ,come straight back if this happens again . "What to this place ,I dont think So " No wonder the place as hit the news , id like to meet the person that managers it , cos he/she it isnt making a very good job .. Id be ashamed to call myself a cleaner , a Nurse at that place .

Guide by Gp to get in the minor injury treatment centre to do a x ray, get in there staff didn’t mention about have to book in with emergency department before get treatment, waited there one hour for nothing. Have a go to emergency department to book in then keep waiting, should be mentioned by staff when talk to them, took less than two minutes to get this info. One hour at least been wasted.

Suggested improvements
Just let staff to say one more sentence did you booked in with emergency department? If not, go to there first.

I was seen straight away due to my symptoms. All staff were amazing and so caring and compassionate. The Department was extremely busy but the staff managed to find me a couch and made time to check on me and keep me updated. I received the appropriate investigations and treatment very quickly despite how busy the Department was. I was seen my the orthopaedic team and had an urgent MRI scan. The staff that took me for my scan were lovely and very kind and supportive. I was found a bed and stayed overnight- again the staff were lovely and very caring despite how busy they were. In the morning, i was discussed at the Orthopaedic Trauma meeting and told i could go home - this was done in a timely manner and all staff were lovely and very supportive. My daughter had the opportunity to stay with me all the time which was an added reassurance for us both.

Suggested improvements
Nothing on my stay for me but i would like to see the staff are supported more by management and appreciated for their efforts and their hard work. I also dont think they have enough breaktime but probably wouldn’t have chance to use it anyway so maybe more opportunities for them to have drinks and snacks on the go.

Seen promptly , all staff and Dr touch points were friendly, engaging and helpful despite been obviously busy , tired and stressed

Suggested improvements
It’s seems a small one but big to me - I had damaged by leg/hip and all of the seats were too low to sit on . I normally walk with a stick and under normal circumstances I would have struggled to get out of this seating All the food and drinks places were shut - it was a Sunday morning at 10:00am - it was causing an issue with those with more extended stays Pharmacy was closed Sunday and Monday - beyond belief - it should be open always - I was told I needed urgent pain killers , anti spasmodics, on my own , too injured to drive and only two pharmacies open in whole of Doncaster

Patient care was brilliant, from entering the endoscopy ward from reception right through the to the endoscopist performing the procedure everyone showed great care, dignity and respect. The member of staff that took my obs and filled in paperwork with me really stood out I felt very anxious and nervous but she made me feel more relaxed immediately lovely member of staff.

Suggested improvements
Nothing on this occasion

The nurse was rude to me and because I’m a regular attendee due to ongoing issues was made to feel insignificant. I was in agony all over my body went hours without any pain relief and made to lay on a doctors couch as was no proper trolleys. Was crying in pain that much I have all sorts wrong but no sympathy given at all from the nurse or health care who ever it was she treated me very poorly even doctor felt sorry for me and tried to get me a proper trolley but said that nurse kept saying no when every bone in my body felt broken and shattered and I was visibly in pain and was offered a chair instead when I was struggling so badly and needed to lay down. I was sleep deprived too.

Suggested improvements
Not treated like a drug addict as I’m a family support worker I understand addiction as I work with getting family off drugs and drink and just because I’m a regular attended as I have serious conditions does not mean I’m a drug addict it means I’m in chronic pain and it’s not acceptable for them to judge and tar everybody with same brush. I don’t want go take strong pain meds I just want sorting out so I can get my life back

Review of Ward G5 (Gynaecology)
8th May 2024

Excellent care from everyone. Consultant and team were caring, supportive and informative. Theatre prep with anaethestist and theatre assistant was superb! After care from nurses and Health Assistants was faultless.

Suggested improvements
Upon arrival there was no bed available. This was not a problem but having to change and walk to theatre , from the shared toilet, was a bit awkward.
